"Jack Frost" patterns cover the glass - permanently! This random design work incorporates fern-like, snail, and large iceberg chips.
This is an old technique which was particularly popular in the early 1900's and was surely discovered by accident by a long-ago craftsman. The surface of the glass is covered with a hot glue which shrinks as it dries and eventually flakes off, taking chips from the glass with it.
We can reproduce broken originals. Bring us the broken glass or a rubbing. For a price estimate, you can email us a digital photo, along with measurements. Give us a call if you need more information or help.
We use gluechipping as background in many of our standard designs and in custom projects.
